Job Summary
Join Harmonic’s innovative and growing team as a Senior Associate – Loan Agency Analyst. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape our newly formed loan agency business while driving exceptional client service and operational excellence.
This new role will help to build a sustainable and growing loan agency offering and take responsibility for driving exceptional client service and building long-lasting client relationships. Other responsibilities will include new business integration, process improvement and providing guidance on system enhancements and meeting tight reporting deadlines.
Essential Functions / General Responsibilities
- Assist with the onboarding of new loan agency activity, including liaising with borrowers, lenders, their advisors, counsel, and internal parties to ensure the smooth intake of new transactions.
- Review loan documentation at the point of on boarding and for the duration of the loan lifecycle.
- Maintain a portfolio of credit deals, proactively managing loan lifecycle events and covenant tracking.
- Review, monitor and record all waiver and amendment communication between borrowers and lenders.
- For syndicated facilities, co-ordinate with the lead lender to manage/oversee the syndication closing.
- Be comfortable with treasury aspects of the loan lifecycle, including loan settlements, wire generation and release, and cash reconciliations.
- Responsible for operational oversight and ensuring industry standard best practice operational processes.
- Work closely with onboarding and new businesses teams to coordinate the on-boarding of new clients.
- Oversees the daily performance of loan agency processes to satisfactory completion of the daily operational cycle.
- Committed to process improvement, client service, control, and identifying any opportunities to implement process improvements, service enhancements, or technology enhancements.
- Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis to define problems and develop solutions, mostly but not limited to, loan agency.
Job Qualifications
- A university graduate with a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, IT or Engineering
- At least 2-3 years of experience working in a similar role
- Experience in reviewing and/or negotiating credit documentation.
Technical Requirements
- Basic working knowledge of all Windows applications
- Excel – Intermediate
- Experience with portfolio management and analytics systems
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Technical knowledge of alternative investment products, operations and the offshore financial services industry including systems technology, valuation, some accounting, prime brokerage, financing and custody preferred
- Have strong organizational abilities and can work within a fast-paced environment
- Experience in relationship management and client service
- Self-driven problem solving attitude and a strong work ethic
- Demonstrate a keen attention to detail – be a strategic thinker and highly analytical
