Portfolio Operations Analyst

Job Summary:

The Portfolio Operations Analyst is responsible for security transactions capture, processing, pricing, corporate actions and settlement, client and counterparty reconciliation, related problem resolution with trading counterparties for a group of complex investment funds, on behalf of a base of challenging institutional clients. 

 
General Responsibilities

  • Transaction input and cash processing in the Portfolio Management System
  • Records corporate actions and dividend payments as required
  • Prices and values portfolio(s)
  • Reconciliations between counterparties and client as needed
  • Liaises with client and prime brokers to resolve trade breaks
  • Produces various internal/external reports relating to trading and investment performance on a timely and accurate basis
  • Monitors, maintains and meets the tight reporting deadlines and demanding obligations of our clients
  • Involved in ongoing development of Portfolio Management System

Job Qualifications

  • A university or college graduate 
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a similar role or combined role working with complex securities and derivative products

Technical Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of all Windows applications
  • Excel – Intermediate
  • Experience with portfolio management and analytics systems would be an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Technical knowledge of alternative investment products, operations and the offshore financial services industry including systems technology, valuation, some accounting, prime brokerage, financing and custody preferred
  • Have strong organizational abilities and can work within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in relationship management and client service
  • Self-driven problem solving attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail – be a strategic thinker and highly analytical
  • Excellent time management, planning, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with an innate ability to channel different points of view
  • Keen to work in a sociable and people facing environment
  • Demonstrate high moral and ethical behavior
